Mailchimp has more than earned its title as the #1 email marketing and automations platform. Known for its quirky branding and approachable tone, the brand thrives on creative experimentation — the perfect playground for testing bold ideas.
Over a six-month contract with the Wink creative team, I worked as both art director and designer to concept and execute experimental social content within Mailchimp’s social “Sandbox.” My work explored new ways to test tone, visuals, and storytelling across global markets, while also optimizing and designing paid media assets for performance.
Paid media
Mailchimp’s account-based marketing campaign spanned impressive breadth and depth. The team created “fake brands” representative of key categories for customer growth, brought to life with branding, lifestyle, and product photography and video in each brand universe. From there, we built out 1,000+ paid digital assets highlighting brand and platform benefits targeting each customer category, tailoring messaging and visual cues by platform in this expansive global media campaign.
